I changed this one thing…
…and now I wake up before my alarm, and fully well-rested.
That one thing is not working from your bed.
We’ve all heard many people/experts advising against working from bed for a myriad of reasons. One of them is that then your brain can not make a distinction that your bed is a place for resting & not working and it disrupts your sleep cycle.
I never gave it a serious thought to try it until last week when the circumstances became conducive to trying this idea out.
I changed my residence a week ago and at my new place, I have a couch in my room.
Now before you jump to the comment section and question why I can’t work from a desk like a normal person — I can’t, for reasons that are not important/relevant to this post.
So I made the transition and for the last one week, I have been working from my couch. I also made/followed this strict rule of not taking my work MacBook to my bed under any circumstances.
And boy, was it revolutionary for me!
On the very first day I did this I fell asleep relatively earlier than my usual bedtime & woke up the next day before my alarm. Fully well-rested but wondering if I am in some parallel universe.
